From the Director
As we welcome in the new year, there is much to celebrate at the Molecular
Foundry. A few months back, our Theory of Nanostructures Facility Director,
Dr. Jeff Neaton, was awarded a Presidential Early Career Award for
Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). In addition, we have just learned Inorganic
Nanostructures Facility Director, Dr. Delia Milliron, received a DOE Early
Career Research Program award. The Foundry community congratulates them both.
The imminent arrival of new equipment obtained with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is catalyzing ideas for new research directions among users and Foundry staff alike. We held a very exciting Users Meeting in cooperation with the Advanced Light Source last Fall. There, we shared new results and ideas for future directions. The User community plays a vital role in the Foundry's evolution and we look forward to your continued input and feedback.
Best,

Carolyn Bertozzi
