Research Interests

Development of a new class of nanomaterials for optical, electrical and energy applications

Current projects:              

  • Studying the toxicity of (CdSe/ZnS) Nanomaterials, Collaboration with Prof. James Ranville (Colorado School of Mines)
  • Synthesis and spectroscopy of semiconductor nanorods (CdS and CdSe), Collaboration with Prof. Ulrike Woggon FB Physik Universität Dortmund, Germany
  • Synthesis and characterization of binary and ternary nanocrystals with unique properties
  • Synthesis and characterization of 1-dimentional nanostructures by gas and solution phases for thermoelectric and energy application, Collaboration with Prof. Peidong Yang (UCB) and Prof. Yi Cui (Stanford University)
  • Studying the physical properties of nanocrystal and nanowires with metal-semiconductor interface
  • Formation of closed packed films of nanostructures using Langmuir Blodgett technique
