National Nanotechnology Day is an annual event featuring community-led events and activities on or around October 9 to help raise awareness of nanotechnology, its use in products that enrich our daily lives, and the challenges and opportunities for the future. This date, 10/9, pays homage to the nanometer scale in scientific notation, 10 –9 meters.
This year, the Foundry celebrated by hosting its Annual NanoArt Image contest. The entries were revealed and voting is open through 10/3/23.
The Foundry also hosted its inaugural NanoEats contest, where participants re-created their favorite topic or NanoArt in an edible format. Check out the entries below! Congrats to Eric Dailing for winning ‘Best in Show’ with his rendition of ‘Photon Avalanche Flatbread’ and to Laurie Chong (with an assist from Katana) for being selected ‘Best Attempt’ with ‘Peptoid Rice Crispy-Sheets’.
