Scientific Achievement

Developed reconfigurable, highly conductive, self-healing all-liquid circuits.
Significance and Impact
Conductivity of liquid circuits stems from the interfacial assembly of densely packed sulfonated polyaniline/phytic acid (S-PANI/PA) complexes which recover full charge-carrying capacity upon healing. Critical step in the development of responsive and adaptive liquid electronics.
Research Details
- Quantification of film adsorption kinetics, morphology, and electrical performance by interfacial tension, SEM, and four-point probe voltammetry as a function of PA concentration
- 3D printing of series and parallel circuits
- Circuit repair and reconfiguration using an electric field
