Bio:
Nick Borys, who received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Utah, and formerly Assistant Professor of Physics at Montana State University (MSU) in Bozeman, Montana, has recently returned to Utah where he is now a Professor. He has had an interesting journey from receiving an undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science at the Colorado School of Mines to leading an experimental condensed matter physics and materials science research group. The Borys Lab researches materials that consist of two-dimensional sheets of atoms and their potential applications in quantum technologies that use the quantum properties of light for sensing, secure communication, and computing.
