Biological Facility Collaborations with the Joint Genome Institute
This workflow includes engineering of microbial chassis, protein function discovery, and elucidating in vitro and in vivo properties of biomaterials and their constituent nanostructures. We have expertise in gene/protein function and pathway prediction, including cheminformatics, functional assay design, and computational comparative structural biology. In addition to instrumentation in the Biological Nanostructure Facility for imaging and protein chemistry, we have instrumentation for culturing microalgae and anaerobic microorganisms. Projects are encouraged that utilize synergistic user capabilities in sequencing, comparative genomics, DNA synthesis, and metabolomics at the Joint Genome Institute.
