Sublimator
Instrument manager: Steve Shelton
A CreaPhys DSU05 tube-based vacuum sublimation unit is used to purify organic volatile compounds by vacuum evaporation and recrystallization for sublimable compounds. An external oven with 3 independent heating zones creates a temperature gradient inside the glass tube that is used to separate the compound into sublimed grade and impurities. Typical purification loads are 0.5–5 g per cycle with a maximum temperature of 600 °C and a vacuum of 10–3 to 10–4 mbar.
