Biography:
Dr. Sinéad Griffin is a new staff scientist at the Molecular Foundry. She received her Ph.D. from ETH Zurich in Switzerland where she investigated novel physics in hexagonal manganites and ferropnictides using both first principles methods and analytical techniques. She won the highly competitive early career Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) award, which supports early career researchers already at Berkeley Lab. Sinead holds a joint appointment between the Molecular Foundry and the Materials Sciences Division to focus on computational design of next generation quantum materials for a variety of applications, including quantum sensing and detection.
