Talk Title: Making the Invisible Visible: Optical Imaging at a High Temporal and Spatial Resolution
Bio:
Srigokul Upadhyayula (Gokul), PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology and Scientific Director of the Advanced Bioimaging Center (ABC) at the University of California, Berkeley. Gokul received his BS at University of California, Irvine; his Masters & PhD at University of California, Riverside and performed his postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School with Tomas Kirchhausen.
His research interests bridge applied engineering with basic science. He is interested in mechanistic questions addressed at a molecular level using optical imaging acquired with high temporal and spatial resolution. His research group is setting up the ABC, a global initiative where we will house cutting-edge pre-commercial imaging technologies, such as the next-generation Adaptive Optical Multi-functional Lattice Light-Sheet Microscope.
