Scientific Achievement
By combining a facial solution method with a post-synthetic approach, brightly emitting colloidal cesium lead halide (CsPbX3, X = Cl, Br, I) nanowires with uniform diameter and tunable composition have been successfully synthesized.
Significance and Impact
CsPbX3 nanowires show bright and tunable luminescence, and low defect density, which can serve as prospective materials for optoelectronic applications.
Research Details
- The solution method can produce CsPbBr3 NWs with high sample purity (>90%)
- The crystal structure of CsPbBr3 will be preserved after anion-exchange reactions, with only slightly anisotropic distortion
- The CsPbX3 NWs have strong photoluminescence with QY in the range of 20% – 80%
