Talk Title: Biomimetic Structures Based on Predictable Controlled Self-Assembly & Folding
Location: Chemla Room (67-3111)
Biography:
Dr. Bing Gong received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1990, and is now a professor in the department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo. Research in his laboratory involves the creation of bioinspired and biocompatible structures based on the combination of design, synthesis, and extensive further characterization. The major areas of research include: protein-like folding molecules; very large nanorings; functional nanotubes; information-storing molecules and biomaterials.
