In the recently announced “OPEN 2012” funding opportunity from the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), Delia Milliron of the Molecular Foundry received a grant of $3 million for her work on smart window technologies, in partnership with scientists in Berkeley Lab’s Environmental Energy Technologies Division (EETD) and Heliotrope Technologies. The project will seek to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings through advanced electrochromic windows with improved performance and low cost.
