Biography:
Dr. Dong Yu is an Associate Professor in the Physics Department at the University of California, Davis. He obtained his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago, followed by a postdoc position at Harvard University. His research interests include the synthesis and experimental investigation of structural, electronic, and the transport properties of semiconductor nanostructured materials, including nanostructures grown by chemical vapor deposition and colloidal nanocrystals. Special topics of interest include: scanning photocurrent microscopy, quantum confinement effect, nanostructure solar cells, diluted magnetic semiconductors, metal insulator phase transition, phase change memory, and topological insulators.
